This video reminds me of learning the books of the bible in Vacation Bible School at church when I was a kid.
I've never forgotten the song or the books of the bible which, by the way, has absolutely no value in my adult life. NONE.
I wish I had a purge button on my brain. That song would be one of the first things to go.
I've said it before but I'd seriously trade in unneeded information for the space to be used
so I can remember my actual cell number when asked for it on the spot or a persons name that I was just told 5 minutes earlier.

But alas...thank god it was only the New Testament I remember and not the old. F*#k the old. Just kidding God. *whimper*

Onto something completely different............
I streamed the new Butch Walker and the Black Widows album the Spade and it is so awesome! I love the fun vibe it has.
I posted a tweet a little while ago about how this album captures the live show vibe Butch is so great at doing based on two songs I heard.
Now hearing the whole album really confirms it for me.
Bullet Belt and Suckerpunch have been repeated so many times today..Love it!

Hear for yourself...

Listen to Butch Walker and The Black Widows, The Spade.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Listen to it here: The Spade

Take a breath

This is a bittersweet sort of announcement.
I'm glad The Academy Is will be putting out more music but sad that part of the band is no more.
Sigh...such is life...roll with it.

Forever Alone Until I Found You

I did a small music/video mashup of the song I'm Yours Tonight by The Academy Is mixed with the video by A-Ha for the song Take On Me.

I know its random but for some reason when I hear I'm Yours Tonight I think of either Twilight or animation for a video.

I went with animation because really, who needs anymore Twilight shit in their lives?

Agreed?

A man's manners are a mirror in which he shows his portrait.

Chivalry.Politeness. Manners. Why is this so foreign for some people.

Question:
You see a coworker coming towards the entrance door you are entering and you
a. hold it for them
b. walk in without thinking about it even though you clearly made eye contact with the person walking towards you
c. give the door an extra push open as you walk in so by the time the person coming towards the door gets close, they basically have to open the door anyways. Your push meant nothing.

I judge people on this small thing. Wrong or right, I think you can tell a lot about people who hold or don't hold a door. Sometimes I feel like I am in such a different mind set then the rest of the world I come in contact with. Why are manners the exception and not the rule?

Anyways...I saw The Academy Is at the Avalon in Hollywood last night (edit: Weds Oct 14th). It was a great show! They played with full energy and it was awesome. Too bad my blackberry thinks I like heavy pixelated photos or I would have them up here in a bigger size. lame. I know.

Dara and Me...show pose...classic.

Forever alone until I found you, and now you’re always there;

The Academy Is

Soooo excited!!! The Academy Is has a new EP called Lost in Pacific Time coming out Sept 22.

AP Fall Ball

Thought this was a great picture that is one of 3 Alternative Press covers,I believe,
for the bands on the AP Fall Ball Tour starting in a few weeks.

Did I ever tell you I was struck by lightning seven times?

I watched the movie "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" this weekend. I had heard some bad reviews about this movie but I've never been disappointed with the movies Brad Pitt is in. So here I am 7 months later giving it a view. I thought the movie was really well done. It reminded me of the Tim Burton movie Big Fish for some reason. Probably just for the narration aspect. But I enjoyed it. Such a beautiful story. Made me cry and I rarely cry at movies. I think the last time I cried at a movie was The Notebook. Another beautiful but sad story. Sigh...

I've been learning Sony Vegas and created a few videos to share. One is scenes from the movie The Notebook. mixed with the song The Test by The Academy Is.

Bit Shifter + Rubik's Cube= Awesome

My first Sony Vegas edit attempt.

Happy Birthday!!!!

It's William Beckett's (from The Academy Is)Bday! WOOT! Happy Birthday!

Be Your Husband

I love this song by Jeff Buckley and thought Mr. William Beckett from The Academy is did an awesome job singing it. The song is 'Be Your Husband' and this is a clip of it from the Hello My Name Is...Acoustic Tour. Woot!

Eastbound traffic has led me to rush our scene

So, I am feeling a little better. I've had the worst cold but I'm so glad there are drugs for my ailments. NyQuil? I heart you. Theraflu? I heart you too. My only gripe about Theraflu is the apple with cinnamon. It smelled like bananas....

I said I was sick right?

Anyway...

My favorite band, The Academy Is , has a few members of the band doing acoustic shows at select Hot Topic stores. No shows in California though. :'(*sniff* This is why I am glad there is You Tube. I heart you You Tube.

New Years Shorty

I just finished watching the New Years FNMTV. It had The Academy Is (love), All Time Low (love), Kevin Rudolph (?? no idea who this is until now and kinda wish I was still in the dark about this) and hosted by Miley Cyrus ( XX() and The Veronicas (love). Thank god for DVR because I can't handle a lot of Miley anymore even though she was surprising a girl who had done awesome work for breast cancer awareness. Still, between her and the commercials, I thank god for the DVR invention.

But anyway, if it re airs, set your DVR and watch the New Years FNMTV.

Happy New Year!

Got Mail?

Tuesday. What a blast. I can't wait for the next 3 days of work to drag on like time stands still. Speaking of work, we all got the good ol email policy in our inbox. I guess trading pictures of The Academy Is with my BFF Dara doesn't qualify as emails intended for business related use. However, our William emails are pretty entertaining. Some people play computer solitaire, others gossip with coworkers, me...I send cute TAI pictures. Yep, I need to get a real life someday.

So, I was getting gas and they have these TVs now that broadcast news while you are standing there filling your tank. They had this 2 second piece on that Rod Blagojevich guy and how he is refusing to resign. It made me annoyed. He was caught doing something dishonorable, why is he continuing the cycle? Were the wiretaps that recorded him trying to sell Obama's US Senate seat wrong? He is acting like a kid who got caught taking cookies from the cookie jar, but continues to deny he did it while crumbs are all over his mouth. I think the right thing to do is to be honorable regardless of past mistakes and step down but that is just my 2 cents from my visit at the Shell station.

Celebrity Crushes

Yep. Who hasn't blogged about this topic. I had many celebrity crushes when I was younger and I started early. When I was in 1st grade, my first crush was Michael Jackson. It was right when the album 'Thriller' came out. I LOVED that album. I had pictures of him on my wall, until my mom disapproved. Then there was Mark Hamill from Star Wars. This relationship wouldn't have worked out because he would have come out of the closet at some point in our relationship and I was 8. It was a short lived love as I moved onto hotter things like John Travolta. Who could deny his hotness in the movie "Staying Alive". He was practically naked!!! But it wasn't enough. When John and I parted ways, there was Kevin Bacon shaking it in 'Footloose'. I remember seeing that movie about 100 times over the summer when I was 9. Kevin and I decided it was best to see other people so I moved on to Rob Lowe. My mom still has a block of wood in the backyard that says 'I Love Rob Lowe'. Rob and I were soul mates. No really. We were. sigh...but people change I guess...and River Phoenix came into the picture. I remember making my mom rent 'Stand By Me' and 'Mesquito Coast' everytime we went to the video store. After awhile I found out that River was dating Martha Plimpton and I just couldn't share anymore. I had a short lived crush on a singer (*cough*) from Menudo. Thats right! MENUDO. You got a problem with that? Ruben Gomez and I were going to meet and fall in love. I was sure of it. It was a rough patch which was followed by my crush on the actor Randall Batinkoff. You might recognize him from such classic movies with Molly Ringwald 'For Keeps'. I know, total classic (insert sarcasm here). Clearly he was a keeper when he was going to marry Molly's character when she pregnant in highschool. But it all changed when hair bands arrived in my life. I had the biggest crush on a PJ Farley from the band Trixter, and just so you know, I am so NOT proud of my musical taste back then, but whatever. I remember meeting PJ at a meet and greet and he was the biggest dick. So that love affair ended sadly. I was so bummed. But that is another blog for another time. Moving on...Next after years of no crushes came Butch Walker. Sigh...I loved his music, humor on stage..everything....Brandon Boyd from Incubus was another one but when I read he was dating a supermodel, my crush fizzed out. Who can compete with a supermodel in a fantasy? I like my crushes some what obtainable (yeah right). So I went back to Butch Walker as my crush...and finally the one that everyone has on their list. William Beckett from The Academy is. Clearly from the picture below, I have way to much time on my hands right now. I should go read a book. Enjoy...smooches crushes!

Wait ..wait...waiting...wait wait...waiting...

Hills I'm watching the end of The Hills in hopes of seeing the new video from The Academy Is "About a Girl" again. This show is like sitting next to someone really annoying on a long flight. I don't know if I can handle much more. Lauren, Brody..blah blah...why must I know their names? Why god!? WHY? All I want to do is see a music video on MTV that isn't a clip or a backdrop for scrolling credits. I've heard about 3 snidbits of songs in the first minute and I am watching two girls shop on TV..."Oh my gawd are you guys like together together?" Someone kill me.
